The Romans Shape the City
The Romans founded London as a trading settlement - Roman London occupied a large part of the area now known as the City.
Our walk starts outside St Paul's station and finishes at Tower Hill station.
This is a chance to see:
- Where the Roman fort stood
- How 21st century London Wall looks
- The site where London's Roman amphitheatre stood
- A Roman site now the location of a 20th century building which Prince Charles described as looking like a 1930's wireless
- A City location important to the Romans and to Harry Potter
- The glass building on the site of a hoard of Roman gold
- The Roman wall for real
